I am sorry if this question has been asked before, and even if it is a basic one…

I think this is odd, but only users with admin role will display as possible options to be added as coauthors. What should be the criteria here?

I need to allow users in other roles to be chosen as post authors as well, but there doesn’t seem to be a capability being used to allow or not users in other roles to be coauthors.

    Thank you.

  • Hi there,

To be assigned as co-authors to posts, a WordPress user will need the ‘edit_posts’ capability. This is typically granted to the Contributor role, but can be altered with the ‘coauthors_edit_author_cap’ filter.

    Have a nice day,
    Stefano

Hey @ste_95, many thanks for this information! I could successfully allow the desired role by assigning a capability it is associated with by using the filter.

Have a nice day you too, abra?os!
