• Hey guys, I have a question.

Google does not give credit to duplicate content.

If you ping other sites automatically once a post is published, and other sites display your content. Who gets the credit for the post? Google may index the other sites first due to their higher visit frequency.

    Fadi

  • Lol. ‘Tis a quandary.

Does your feed contain your full post?

Yes it currently does. I am debating changing that, or moving to delayed pinging.

I am wondering if it is worth the change though.

Yeh, it might be worth changing that. Because yes, there are cases where Google can’t properly determine who owns the content. And you don’t want to be penalized for duplicate content and relegated to the depths of the Google sandbox.

That is why I am thinking of either making the pings manual or have a plugin schedule the pings on an X days delay so google index my site first.
