Who uses this theme

  • I’m fiddling around trying to update a WP site. I have limited time to work on it.

    Some time ago, I saw a site I liked the look of and noted down the theme they were using. I didn’t take note of the site using it.

    Is there a clever way to find out the web sites which are using a given theme? I’d like to look at examples of the theme in use.

    First, there is a warning on that theme’s page This theme hasn’t been updated in over 2 years. It may no longer be maintained or supported and may have compatibility issues when used with more recent versions of WordPress.

    Second, volunteers on these forums have no list of that theme’s users.

    Third, you can try asking the developers of that theme if they have such list.

    First point, I was aware of the warning but looking at the support forum for the theme, I see many unanswered questions so I’ve decided to shop around for a new one.

    Second, I guessed that nobody was likely to maintain a list of who uses what. I was hoping for some clever search I could do…. but never mind.

    Third, given what I have found in the support forum, I guess the developer is long gone.

    I’m afraid that, with 47,219,433 downloads of WordPress 6.5 alone https://www.ads-software.com/download/counter/ such a list would be both impossible to maintain and browse.
