    Hi David,

I have tried including the whole_word=true parameter in a “keyword search” form (as shown below), but I’m not getting the desired results.

    Here’s the shortcode I’m using:

    [mla_gallery s="{+template:({+request:search-string+}|a-bad-term)+}" mla_target="_blank" link=file, full orderby=date order=DESC columns= 7 mla_caption="{+title+}" posts_per_page=100 whole_word=true]
    [mla_gallery s="{+template:({+request:search-string+}|a-bad-term)+}" mla_link_href="{+page_url+}?search-string={+request:search-string+}" posts_per_page=100 mla_output=paginate_links]

The search I’m trying is “flat sneakers” (without quotes), but in the results I’m also getting items named “flatform sneakers”.

Is what I’m doing correct or am I missing something?

    Thank you!

Good to hear from you again. Thanks for your question, and for including the full text of your shortcodes; very helpful.

First, I noticed a few small errors in your shortcodes. Your first shortcode insludes link=file, full – this should be link=file size=full. Your second shortcode does not include the full_word=true parameter, which would be required to match the selection criteria in the first shortcode.

However, the small problems do not explain your results. In the Settings/Media Library Assistant Documentation tab you will find:

whole_word – Add?whole_word=true?to require that each of the words entered must match a whole word in taxonomy terms. This is equivalent to putting quotes around each of the words in your search.?Note that this option only affects the “terms” portion of the search.?WordPress does not support a whole word search in any of the other search fields.

The last sentence in the documentation explains your results. I regret that WordPress limitations preclude whose word searching in the Title, Description and other standard fields.

I regret the news is not better, but I am marking this topic resolved because your question has been answered. Thanks for your continued interest in the plugin.
