• Which theme publisher has the best and quickest support for their themes? Who do you like, and why? Thanks very much!

I have an existing site via WordPress.com (Blue Planet Almanac) and I’m moving it to self-hosted. Having shopped for themes over the past two weeks, I’m underwhelmed with slow communication or support offered by four theme publishers. Although many nice-looking themes are available, I’d prefer to work with a publisher who provides clear communication within reasonable time periods. Because what I’m asking for isn’t involved, when I find a concern I’d prefer it to be acknowledged and fixed within 48 hours max.

Anyone got good experience with particular publishers? I’m willing to pay a little more to simply get my new site stable, because once everything’s set up I’ll be a low-maintenance customer.

  • DIY, makers of Thesis, provides excellent support. Many of my visitors have Thesis and vouch for it all the time.

Personally, I’ve used Frugal on several of my sites. Eric Hamm, the Frugal theme guy, provides good support as well.

Both of these also have their own forums for user input, just like this forum.

Thanks, Gabe. I might end up using a page layout software like Thesis or Frugal. The idea hadn’t occurred to me until a few days ago and your suggestion about these two companies carries weight for me. I’ve experience with older publishing layout programs like PageMaker and Quark, so it looks like Thesis and Frugal do similar things in PHP.

Best of luck and definitely keep us posted on your www.ads-software.com transition.
