Why?

  • There’s no reason to have made this default editor. It looks like a beta product at best.

    If you wanted to have an editor that’s more like a page builder, at least add drag & drop functionality. It’s 2021, after all.

    …they annoyed us for years about avoiding page builders, and now WP has just become one (or better, they think it has) ??

    It does have drag and drop functionality. There are multiple ways to move blocks around — arrow movers, a “move to” feature, you can copy an entire block to relocate it, and there are drag handles in the block toolbar.
