When I am typing up a new post the text is displayed in italics on screen. I have not chosen italics, and it looks fine (not italic) when I have posted it to the site. It is only in the editor on the dashboard it shows up in italics. I do not know why this happens, it seems to happen randlomly with every other 0.x version upgrade or so and is not always consistant on different computers (running same version of IE8)… My blog.

Not a dealbreaker but really frustrating!! Help please. Thanks!

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems.

No, I haven’t tried troubleshooting it like you suggest, but I will. Thanks. ??

However… could plugins really be the issue since the problem seem to fix itself with time (usually), and also not appear on all computers running the same browsers?

Has anyone else experienced this same problem?

Is Google Gears running in any of those browsers?

Nope, I am not using google gears, but I am using google analytics on my site… I am curious though, is google gears buggy? I have contemplated using it.

It’s not compatible with with anything above Firefox 2 and is known to cause problems in WP.

I switched to another theme (atahualpa). Problem persists. I also tried deactivating all the plugins but the problem is STILL there. Annoying. Sigh! Any ideas?

PS! IE8 it looks italic, in Firefox 3 everything looks as if it is in bold….. grrrrrrr……

Upgraded to WordPress 2.8.6. successfully…. but this problem persists. In both Chrome 3.0.195.33 and IE8 paragraph style shows up in all italics in the edit window, and in FireFox 3.5.5. it shows up in bold. With or without plugins active. Sigh!!

When I post it looks the way is is supposed to, but it is really annoying to look at when you create new posts…. Anyone?

I am noticing the same issue. It appears to be fine in Safari for the mac. Have not tried safari for windows yet, but it seems to me to be a browser related issue, or maybe related to the styling for the admin area.

I really do not know what is is related to. Honestly! I has corrected itself again (temporarily no doubt) in all 3 browsers I use, even though I have not changed ANYTHING. Same browsers, same versions of everything, no new plugins… Oh well, I guess I should just enjoy it while it lasts. ??

Still looks good. Perhaps it was fixed in WordPress 2.9. I will change this to resolved. ??
