    At the top of my dashboard, I’m getting this message: “nginx.conf rules have been updated. Please restart nginx server to provide a consistent user experience.”

    It doesn’t say anything about WP Total Cache, but a Google search shows that this plugin is the usual source of the problem. Yesterday, I got the same message on another of my sites that uses W3 Total Cache, and it created a “502 Bag Gateway” error that prevented me from logging in as admin.

    Is the only solution to switch to a different caching plugin?

    Hello @restorm

    Thank you for your inquiry and I am happy to assist you with this.
    Once W3 Total Cache settings are changed or updated bu the user (you) for example Browser Cache settings, new rules are being written to your nginx.conf, and as the notification is showing, you need to restart nginx server to provide a consistent user experience.
    So it’s is not a problem or the error but a simple notification that ngix.conf is updated and needs to be restarted.
    Thank you!

    Whenever I access the admin area, the message “nginx.conf rules have been updated. Please restart nginx server to provide a consistent user experience.” is displayed.
    Even when there are no changes to the settings.

    What can this be?

    I have an environment with multiple servers (autoscaling).

    Hello @elevenweb

    Thank you for your question.
    This is mostly related to the nginx.conf. If everything is working fine you can ignore the notification. However, if some settings especially in the BC section are changed, make sure to restart your server so the rules are updated.
    Thanks!

    I find it strange that the message appears, regardless of having changed the settings.

    BC = Browser Cache?
