Why am I locked out?

  • Twice now I’ve been locked out of my own site. I think it’s going into citadel mode- but it prevents me from logging in as well, and i’ve had to go into the file manager and disable the plugin to get access to the back end. What do I do to keep my ability to log in intact?

    I get a redirect and “not found on this server.” error.

    You need to check the Activity log. All events are logged there. Use the “My IP” and “My activity” filters.

    for some reason it flagged my activity. Yet I had previously added my IP address to the whitelist. Then it went into citadel mode which locked me out. I had to disable the plugin from the file manager.

    What kind of “some reason” do you see in the log?

    Furthermore, my subnet and my IP address, as well as that of one of my contributors is in the IP White List.

    Is there any other data you need to help me figure out what’s going on.

    It seems you have set too restrictive “Citadel mode” parameters.

    Thanks for replying. Could you offer some guidance setting to arrive at the fine balance between being too restrictive and having sufficient “roadblocks” to cause the troublemakers to go elsewhere?
