• I am using WP 2.0. I installed a few plugins (Brian’s Latest Comments and the default WordPress Database Backup) The Delete button associated with a post would not do anything. I would need to hit Edit then “Delete This Post” from the Edit screen to have a post deleted. Has anyone run into this issue and what’s your solution?

    Thanks in advance!

  • That’s strange, I’d imagine an author would be able to delete his or her own post… I’ll take a quick look now.

An author should be able to delete his/her own post. Are you confident that you are the author?
What I mean is, that like me, you may have two identities on your blog. One is the naturally the admin, the other may be a user with author rights.

If you published a post as admin, you as the second author should not be able to delete the post.

Admittedly a shot in the dark.

Yes it was a post from my author scoped account. So, when logged in under the author account I should be able to delete the post I created. In fact another author brought this to my attention (and thus my testing under my author account.) Again, I can delete that same post by going to the Edit screen and hit Delete This Post from there.

I’m out of shots even in the dark.
