Why can’t I see the contents of the recycle bin?

I am sorry, the trash is actually part of Media Cleaner database. If you delete everything on the WordPress side, and just add the files, it will not work. The information about those files is also lost, the files only aren’t really enough.

Few years ago when Media Cleaner was using the WordPress trash and if you were using another plugin that automatically empty the trash you would end with removed entries from the database, so even you had the images in wpmc-trash it was not possible to restore anything. I remember that I had report this to Jordy and he already had plans to replace this with a separate Trash, which he done after few days.

What is the function of the button in Settings Delete cleaner DB. Who to use and when not to?

I don’t have the problem, but I need to know how to use the backup.
Before deleting, you ask to create a backup of your uploads. I do this via FTP.
How should I use the uploads backup in case of a problem? Copy it to the wp-content/uploads/ folder.
Will it be enough?

Hi @georgebr,

Basically, it removes the Settings and the Tables created by Media Cleaner ?? So you could us it either to reset everything linked to Media Cleaner, or simply before removing Media Cleaner to make sure there is nothing left behind.

As a side effect, this will be empty the information about what’s in your Media Cleaner trash, but no the physical files themselves.

I miss having cats! After I started living in Japan in a small apartment, I don’t have cats anymore ?? Since then, I am more and more surrounded by digital cats, though! But will never replace the sweet real thing.
