Let’s say I have two attributes, Size and Design as follows:

    Size: S, L
    Design: One, Two

This will create 4 variations. User has to first select size from drop down, then select design from drop down and then its image will load and then user will be able to see what is Design One and what is Design Two?

Wouldn’t it be better and more intuitive that user simply select the image and it will select that design in drop down below and then he just have to choose size?

  • Hi there,

With the vast number of different ways products can be set up (with an infinite number of different variations), by default WooCommerce will have the 1) Product Image, 2) Product gallery, and 3) individual images that can be set for a specific variation.

By default, gallery images are not tied to individual variations, and variation images are not displayed until that specific variation is chosen.

If you would like to instead allow customers to select a variation option from images instead of from the dropdown, you could check out the Variation Swatches and Photos extension here:
    https://woocommerce.com/products/variation-swatches-and-photos/

Otherwise, changing the default behavior would require some customization. If you need assistance with coding or custom development, we recommend reaching out to a developer from one of the services at https://woocommerce.com/customizations/

    I hope that helps!
