Why did I not find this earlier

Many thanks, such a simple fix – I totally agree with earlier comments “this fix should be code in WP right from the start!“

I was never aware of how the URL https://www.???/author/username appeared from post threads until last night when I had hackers trying to use my personal username (not Admin!!) to break in. At first I thought they gained access to my DB, phew was it a relief when I found forum threads leading to this plugin.
