We just turned our WP site live today, and all heck broke loose with our iTunes feed. We use Libsyn as our media host and our iTunes RSS has been set up there, working perfectly, for weeks.

Today a bunch of stuff changed on our iTunes page: Our thumbnail switched to the PowerPress logo, several episodes disappeared, our description disappeared, our latest episode is not there, etc.

HOW and WHY did PowerPress hijack our Libsyn-based RSS feed? We do not want. We want to use the RSS feed from Lybsyn.

The media player on our WP site is slick. But, how do we turn off the RSS feed function of PowerPress???

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

PowerPress can not possibly be messing with a Libsyn RSS feed. Libsyn’s RSS feed comes from Libsyn.com. Your PowerPress is installed on your website.

How did Apple get your PowerPress feed? What is your Apple Podcasts listing address?

    Mike … thanks for replying.

This is our question exactly, how did turning our WP site live interfere with the rss feed?

Is that the address you need?

It actually looks like it’s back to normal now. So how can we tell for sure if PowerPress is now sending an RSS feed or if it’s still just Libsyn?

I just pulled it up on a tool we have here. It’s pulling from your libsyn address. https://homedadshow.libsyn.com/rss

There isn’t a way for PowerPress to do anything at all to your Apple listing unless you change it yourself. I’m wondering if there is a show that is named similarly to yours on Apple and you were looking at that listing.

Keep an eye on it and let us know if something happens again. [email protected]

Thanks Mike. It appears everything is back to normal. Very odd coincidence that our iTunes show freaked out the same day the new site went live. That’s why I thought it may have something to do with PowerPress.

Glad to see everything’s working for you now.

If you’ve found the support we’ve provided here to be of value, please consider leaving a review for PowerPress.

These reviews help us with future development of the plugin, and we’d really appreciate it!
