    Hello!
Why did you delete the vertical dividing line? I’ve been using it for 5 years! It seem like you have big fun unsettling your loyal users and destroying their websites.

For 5 years I have been using this dividing line between post title | and the website name (200 posts). Now I get a point instead. If I had wanted a point, I would have chosen it 5 years ago.
Personal entries are constantly being changed or deleted. Finally the option for the fb:app_id deleted, now the vertical seperator | is gone.
First you offer the options, then you delete them. That unsettles me.

    Hello @cachegaagaa,

We understand the frustration. Yoast is dedicated to keeping you and your site up to date with the latest SEO changes. Recently, Google has consistently replaced the pipe ( |?) and tilde ( ~ ) separators in search results. Therefore, Yoast SEO 17.1 removed these choices from our plugins and reverted the separator to the em dash ( —?). You can change the default separator with the steps here: How to change the title separator in Yoast SEO

While we strongly encourage you to select one from the list as they are trusted to work in search results, we can certainly understand that you may prefer to use these or other separators. Yoast SEO includes filters that allow you or your developer to customize many of the features in our plugin, including the separator choices. The filter?wpseo_separator_options can be used to customize your choices. Typically code snippets are added to your theme’s functions.php file. If you’re not familiar with using code snippets, we’d like to refer you to the WordPress documentation on how to use a filter. An example code snippet can be found here: https://gist.github.com/amboutwe/6ed67899af7eb17fec4ece326d10c4af

    Thank you!

But not in Germany, here the search results are still full of (|)!

    Hi,

It really all depends as Google is continually refining its algorithm and index, so it’s really hard to say what results would show for one location or language in the search results. We recommend reading this article to know more about the changes that Google is introducing in its refinement of titles, and if you would like to provide feedback or suggestions as well – https://developers.google.com/search/blog/2021/08/update-to-generating-page-titles & https://developers.google.com/search/blog/2021/09/more-info-about-titles
