So I bought the POSTS TICKER.

The page on the website says $13; you add it to the cart and it says $16

Then if you want to pay by PayPal it adds $2 = total $18

Or you can use “credits” where the minimum is $20

So in the end my $13 plugin cost $18.

It’s a good plugin but suffers from sneaky and ripoff pricing! If you had said right from the price the true price I would have paid that happily, but your underhand attitude annoys me.

Any chance of a refund for this cheap trick?

I’m sorry that you are disappointed in the final price you paid. I didn’t realize until now that Envato increased the price of my product to $16 (thank you for pointing this out). I will make sure to update my site with the correct price and double-check my other products.

I’m not the biggest fan of the PayPal fee or minimum balance, but I don’t have any control of those aspects of the Envato market. The fees/requirements are clearly stated on Envato’s site/checkout before any transactions/purchases take place.

I’m not understanding why you purchased the file, if you are requesting a refund right now. All fees/pricing were clearly visible before purchasing the file (even if the initial price on my personal site was incorrect).

If you do wish you get a refund you need to contact Envato support as they handle all refunds.

    Passing the buck.

I have never ever seen PayPal customers charged more. Your customers are being ripped off; shaken down in other words. It makes you look cheap and petty.

I like the product and I need it for a site. I don’t like the way you kept adding on extra fees during the process.

Like I said, I would have paid $18 for this happily; I don’t like the way you offer it for $13 and then pile a load of extras on.

    Be honest at least.

PS I don’t want a full refund, just the $5 difference between the advertised price of $13 and your shakedown price of $18…

I’m sorry, but regardless of the price listed on the site you were fully aware of the final charge (product price and additional fees) before you purchased the product. If you would like to make a complaint about PayPal fees or minimum deposit amounts please do so at https://envato.com/index.html as I have no control over them.

I am not saying I did not know the final fee. I am saying that you have a cheap way of getting more money from your customers who need your product and it does not reflect well on your company.

It’s not about the money, it’s about the underhand way in which various bits and pieces were added on to the original price.

If I were you, I would move to a less dishonest looking money processing system.

Meanwhile, yes I will take the partial refund – you can make a payment on our behalf to the animal welfare charity we support in Greece here:

Let me know when you’ve done that please.

I can understand the frustration with the price difference and extra fees add once you where directed to Envato. The inconsistency of pricing on my site was my fault for not realizing the actual price changes sooner.

I have donated 10 Euros to your charity.
