I am using WP Gallery Custom Links v 1.9.0.

When I click on a gallery thumbnail it opens up the image in the gallery – this bit works ok and as expected.
However, when the gallery opens up, I am presented with next and prev buttons, which take through my entire library images. – Is this normal?

I can even see my banner images and site images which are there too.

I have noticed in the library – each image has this option:
    Gallery Link URL |__________|
I tried entering [none] in this box – to see if it would remove altogether from the gallery, but even when i do this – these images still appear in the gallery (when pressing next/prev button).

    e.g. here:

I have noticed, that if I name gallery item – it doesn’t do this (no prev/next buttons appear to take the user through other images).

But, if they land on an image which is just called “attachment_id=955” then the buttons keep appearing and take the user to all other library images.

  • If you disable the WP Gallery Custom Links plugin, does the above still happen?

yes, I just tried disabling it and was doing the same thing.

I just noticed – it only happens with images which have not yet been inserted into a page.
When I insert the images into a page – they no longer show in the gallery when clicking the next/prev btns.

In the media library > under the column – ‘uploaded to’ it says ‘Attach’ if it has not been uploaded to a page.

And when clicking on the next/prev btns – it goes through all the attachment IDs like this:
    https://www.vwcampervandirectory.co.uk/?attachment_id=1016
    https://www.vwcampervandirectory.co.uk/?attachment_id=1018
    etc.

As a work-around – I suppose I could just upload them all to a test page, but it doesn’t seem right. Surely it’s not supposed to work like this?

If you disable this plugin and still have the same issue, the problem would likely be related to your theme or a different plugin, and I’m not sure there’s much I could help you to do to fix it from the perspective of this plugin. =\

If you want to contact me at [email protected], we can discuss resolving this further.
