Why do I get “No coupon ID has been selected” notice when logging in?

I did a test registration. It created a coupon for the test affiliate based on the standard coupon for the program. But when I log in with the test affiliate credentials, I get a message “No coupon ID has been selected.” There is no place in the login to select anything. Just username and password. And the test affiliate DOES have a coupon. So why isn’t the login going to a dashboard for the user?
