Okay, I’ve had my blog/ website up and running for about 2 weeks now, and it has some very professional articles on it, it’s just like any proper website, it even looks like one.

Yet I wonder why people have the nerve to come and spam comment my site which is based on IT & Communications with German kitchens and bathrooms, “Free iPads” and Wedding Cakes!

WHY? Do people not have any respect? Would they do this to any other website? why mine? I’ve had 19 total spam comments, not one of them being genuine.

Is this just me or other people too, and how are they finding my website in particular, other than Google?

Everyone gets spam. If I understood why they did it, I’d be rich.

Install and configure Akismet. Try Cookies for Comments and/or Bad Behavior plugins too.

Look at the bright side, your site exists in a spambot’s eyes. One day, perhaps you’ll have over 1000 per day in your spam filter!

They usually spam in order for their website links to appear on your website so that their rankings will increase in search engine results due to site linking.
