Why do some pics looks sideways when viewed on ipad?

  • Whenever I take pictures that are in the portrait format, they look sideways (landscape mode) when I view them on my ipad. They look fine on my laptop, so not sure what the deal is or how to fix it. My site is https://www.ohhappybelly.com

    Please peeps, if there is anyone out there that knows how to fix this I need help! I have tried some things on my own and the images just will not stay the right orientation on my ipad. Very frustrating…

    I’m having the same issue! My site is showing up just fine when I view it on my laptop, tablet and two samsung phones but not on an Ipad so I assume the format is incorrect on iphones also. Have you figured anything out yet? @mpalmer78

    I’m having the same issue as well. Random pictures appear sideways on ipad and iphone but look fine on a laptop. My pictures were taken vertically too (I didn’t rotate the file before I uploaded it to wordpress). Not sure why they are being rotated but would sure love to know of a fix!

    Most likely the images are rotated sideways when they were uploaded. Most devices recognize that orientation given to them using CSS but iPads may not.

    Remove those images, then ensure that they are uploaded in the right orientation.

    Nope. My photos were oriented properly on my phone, sent to my computer and showed in correct orientation there, but rotated when uploaded to WP. I figured out how to fix that, and it looks fine on my comp, but is frustratingly sideways, with no readily apparent way to fix it, on the app.
    Some brilliant moderator closed another thread on this subject because it supposedly dealt with an older version of the app, yet amazingly it’s still happening! Why is there no real help to be found on this??
