why does a home page exist on the website but not in the dashboard?

i am using the autofocus theme. I have added 5 new pages (about, collections, press, stockists and contact). in the page menu, there is also a home page and an RSS page. Firstly, how can i delete the RSS page? Secondly, when i click on the home page it comes up as the about page. I keep trying to add an image on the home page but have to add another new home page to do so. ie. in the dashboard page section, there isn’t an option to edit the home page (or the RSS page) since i didn’t add these (they were there already in the theme).
