Why does Google permalink contains 'Topics'

  • When my new posts get submitted to Google the permalink for the Google search results is always showing up as:

    mydomain.com > Topics

    It should be:

    mydomain.com/this-is-my-post-permalink

    I’m using the Yoast SEO Plugin. I don’t know if the plugin is the issue or the base WordPress install.

    How do I fix this?

    To clarify

    mydomain.com > Topics in the Google results – Topics is my top level menu bar on my site.

    scottalanturner.com is my domain. If you google: site:scottalanturner.com you can see the messed up permalinks.
