• this has absolutley been killing me. and here i am an hour after publishing an article, STILL trying to get it to look like i type it in. every time i click publish, it changes the format and i dont know why.

this article i am doing has quotes. i put a quick description in one paragraph, then a quote in the next. i do this like 10 times. and every time i get it just like i want it, i publish it and something randon happens. sometime it bunches paragraphs together. sometimes it unbolds certain things i bolded. but one thing is for sure, it is NVER LIKE IT LOOKS WHEN I HAVE IT LAID OUT!!! it drives me absolutely crazy. it takes me longer to get stuff to appear like i wrote it then it actually takes to write it.

so can someone please tell me what the secret is to have things publich like you actually want them to?

oh, and another thing. whether i pick format or paragraph, it doesnt care. because it changes itself all the time anyway. and my favorite part is when part of my post always magically italicizes itself

These kinds of questions are sometimes hard to answer – because there can be a number of reasons. But first, are you switching between the Visual and Text editors? That WILL cause problems, so be sure you publish before switching to the other one. Other problems like you describe happen because you have code errors – tags are not closed.

Or are you pasting from someplace else like Word?

i only use visual and i never use tags. here is the link to the article i just did. after over an hour it finally looks right. every time i would click publish, like i said it would constantly move the text to bunch text together, etc. it would unbold the bold, or italicize stuff. i dont use code, i dont know how to. and it was typed directly in, not pasted.

Hmm, that sounds like something funny must be going on. You’ll need to start by deactivating your plugins and switching to the default WP theme to try to identify what’s causing it to happen.

Also be sure to clear any caches on your site.
