WHy does it ask for FTP details

  • No tonly the WPress up date but also to up date my plugins I am always asked for my FTP details. Why? as normaly you click up date and it updates its self.

    Also when I have put in my FTP details it refuses to up date with the following message……

    Downloading update from https://www.ads-software.com/wordpress-3.5.2-partial-1.zip…

    Unpacking the update…

    Could not create directory.: /wp-content/upgrade/wordpress-3.tmp

    Installation Failed

    Please advise on any help.
