Hi there. We have noticed that over 100 images are added to a client’s Envira Gallery, without Alt Tags. We use a plugin that allows us to go down the Media Library, paste it in, click the next one and the one that loses focus, updates. So we can get thru many very quickly: It’s called Quick Alt Editor.

But having done this, none of the 100+ images in the Gallery are updated. If I go to the gallery and click the image, the alt Tag box is still empty. Do I really have to manually edit 100+ individual iamges, click on, popup, edit update etc… 100+ times?

  • Hi, @simon_a6!

My apologies for the delay in response!

Unfortunately, with regards to metadata, metadata you edit in Envira does not show up in the metadata you see in the media library; and metadata you edit in the media library does not show up in Envira (if the images have already been added to the gallery).

The only real way, presently, to get the updated info in the gallery is to remove the images and then re-add them. Our dev team does hope to eventually create and release a syncing mechanism to avoid this issue in the future, but it’s not yet available.

Wow. This is soooo bad. Really. When a developer is given a website, and they have Envira galleries with 100-200 images, and NONE have Alt Tags… that’s a CRAZY task, made everso much worse, but this one tiny lacking in detail from the Envira plugin.

I will suggest they remove the plugin, and use a built in one, or another Gallery tool that uses the Meta data.
