Jetpack Comments works by loading the comment form from WordPress.com, and then posting back to WP.com. There we do some identity checking to make sure the details being posted are correct, before submitting the comment to your site (to be stored in your comments database).

If you have a slow connection to WordPress.com then unfortunately you might notice some delay/white screen while some of this is happening. We’re looking at ways that we can reduce that delay, but currently there is nothing you can change on your end to improve it.

Also note that once the comment is submitted, your own site will need to reload the page, so the speed of that is up to you (and which other plugins you’re loading etc).

This is true but there are ways to do it far better aesthetically than this one.

toango is not the only one with a bad connection, I am too and the delay is not so much of a problem as the “white screen” is.

Surely there is a way to avoid being redirected, do this in the background, probably with Ajax or adapt to the template in question.

My website is dark and a white flash of 3 seconds is gruesome and gives the feel of “cheap” to the user experience.
