I am having a problem with 2 new installations of WordPress. Every time I try to log in as admin, I get a 10 second countdown where I am told – I am there because of PC Guard. Then after this 10 second delay, a captcha / recaptcha screen which presents me with up to approx 10 screens of cycles, busses, cars, crosswalks, motorbikes, taxis, steps, stairs, fire hydrants and bridges – before I can get in – and it is pretty annoying. Any way I can remove this facility. I don’t have any plugins installed and cant see any PC Guard or recapture settings and I’ve never encountered it before on previous WordPress installations.

If I understand correctly, PC Guard is a desktop application. Is it running on your PC? If so, something may have changed in its settings, e.g. with regard to entries in login forms. I would recommend that you contact their support.

Well, I haven’t installed PC Guard and I have tried it on 2 other laptops (not owned by me) it only appears with my WordPress Logins on my new WordPress sites. The URL changes to ‘https://diversify.me.uk/wp-login.php?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fdiversify.me.uk%2Fwp-admin%2F&reauth=1

I saw it myself – but only the very first time I called it up. After that, no matter which browser I used, the message did not appear.

If you haven’t installed a plugin for this, it could be a security setting for your WordPress backend by your hoster. Try contacting their support.

It was a setting by my hosting company and they have apparently added my domain to a ‘whitelist’ and now it no longer appears – thank you for your kind, and awesome, assistance !
