    Thanks bro
    I am using wordpress 2.6
After doing some change in the theme editor there under design tab,I found there no save button.

Ok there is no button called “save” there should be a button called “Update File” or you should see the text

You need to make this file writable before you can save your changes. See the Codex for more information.

So do you just see nothing at all?

What about in a different browser?

    Yes boss
    You are right.
There is written”See the codex for information”
I have already modified the permission as per the CODEX.
But still unable to save in theme editor. Please help

What permissions have you set? Depending on your hosting config, you may need to set your theme’s files to 777 rather than 775.

After proper changes in permission of directories as per codex what should i do to save the file.

    Thread Starter johnbablex

    (@johnbablex)

    wp-includes 777
    index.php 777
    .htaccess 777

    I have changed these all.

    what should i do next?Plz

Hi. It’s not those files that you need to change, it’s the contents of

    /wp-content/themes/your-theme-name/

You can change the other files back.

John Please don’t double post, they will be deleted very quickly. Also this is a volunteer ran forum so a little patience will go along way. Also bumping will reduce your chances of getting an answer because it removes you from the no-replies section of the forum where alot of volunteers go to answer questions.

i have changed as above.i.e given permission 777.
What next?Still there is no save/update button!!

Did you give each file in the theme directory 777 as well. ie a recursive permission change.

Most ftp clients have an option to apply permissions recursively.

instead of save/update button.the following line is coming

“You need to make this file writable before you can save your changes. See the Codex for more information.”

    Thread Starter johnbablex

    (@johnbablex)

let me give each file 777 permission
