Why don’t category pages allow you to use the secondary template? Need help…

Heya – so I’m working on this site: https://jen-novak-consulting.theportlandco.com

And when the user selects one of the categories (which appear in the middle column) it should then begin using the secondary template, but currently it maintains the primary template. I’m not sure how to accomplish this, can someone help?
