Why don’t things work– I’m confused?

  • I’m a newbie, following the newbie tutorials at the Wiki. I haven’t even changed themes yet. I’m just trying to do the most basic stuff.

    So far, in the default theme:

    1. The tagline didn’t show up.
    2. I added catagories: they didn’t show up.
    3. I’m not sure my email address is showing either.

    What’s up?

  • 1. The tagline does not show up unless you add a line to the index. It does show up in the rss feed though.

    2. You need to have posts in categories. Empty cats are hidden.

    3. I would hope not ?? Your email address is for your blog to send you stuff. If it appeared on the blog, the spammers would copy it and flood you.

    Okay, I just discovered one must post FROM a catagory in order for it to be seen in the catagory list.

    Sorry y’all. The tagline still isn’t there, but I’ll be honest: I don’t really want it– so nobody break a sweat.

    Did I say this WP stuff appears most awesome yet?
