Why feed clear cache settings got automatically reset

    We are using this plugin on the site. Website has a cache plugin so we have set up the feed caching every hour. However few days ago the feed on the website wasn’t updated even when the instagram feed was updated. While investigating it was found that setting was still “Every Hour” but there was a message “Nothing currently scheduled”.

    We changed changed the settings again to “Every hour” then it showed the next check time.

    WP version is 6.1.1 and the plugin version is “Smash Balloon Instagram Feed”.

    We can’t keep checking the settings all the time. So what could be the reason for that, can you please explain?

    Hi @suryamaya,

    Thank you for contacting us! If you continue to see the “Nothing currently scheduled” message in the Caching settings area, it’s possible that the WP-CRON configuration on your site is not working. This is part of WordPress itself and we use this to schedule the updates to your feed. We have an article here with more information on this problem and how to resolve it.

    You could also try adding the property?cachetime=30?to your shortcode, which will use an alternate method of updating the feed. If your current shortcode is [instagram-feed feed=”1″], you would change it to [instagram-feed feed=”1″ cachetime=30].
