    Hi,

Thanks for this plugin that should avoid the trouble of getting and managing a Google API key. There are a few things I do not understand, though.

    1. When I click on the Location field (Emplacement in French), a small window pops up telling me that Google Map cannot be loaded on this page ? ! ? !. Isn’t the plugin supposed to use OSM ?

    2. After I get rid of this warning, I can enter an address for the location but it is ignored and the plugin always uses a default location near me. I can only work with coordinates.

The console displays the following messages :

Google Maps JavaScript API warning: InvalidKey https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages#invalid-key util.js:228:27

You must use an API key to authenticate each request to Google Maps Platform APIs. For additional information, please refer to https://g.co/dev/maps-no-account For more information on authentication and Google Maps JavaScript API services please see: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/get-api-key js:78:406

If I need a Google API key anyway, what’s the benefit of using OSM ?

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Patrick

@samoreen – Thank you so much for your feedback. My apologies for the delay in response. The intention of using the google maps API is solely for auto-population of the coordinates. This way they can be saved and used within the OSM map widget. I do see your point, in that there’s no need of trying to query the google maps API if there’s no API key saved.

I’ve pushed an update to remove the use of the google maps API when no Key is added.

    Cheers,
    James
