Okay… I just tried to activate the https://www.klaviyo.com/media/downloads/woocommerce-klaviyo-master-v2.0.2.zip plugin alongside the https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/klaviyo/ plugin and found that this plugin might be made irrelevant by the newer v2 plugin since the functionality of both older plugins have been bundled into the one newer one.

Now I’m wondering if the old Klaviyo plugin would be deleted in favor of this one then being updated to v2. That way, the WP.org plugins are back to being up-to-date and not having people using and/or newly-installing out-of-date plugin versions (also, the documentation wouldn’t need to link to what appears to be a raw GitHub zip download that has “master” unnecessarily included in the filename).

Also, I noticed the v2 plugin tries to link to https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/search/woocommerce-klaviyo/ as the plugin URL which isn’t currently a plugin at WP.org.

So I’m thinking that should be implemented as a new plugin listing for v2 moving forward and then have both this v1 plugin and the non-WooCommerce v1 plugin be removed (or at least have a very noticeable mention at the top of the plugin description saying that the v2 plugin at https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/search/woocommerce-klaviyo/ should be used instead.)

Ugh, looks like we are both chasing our tails for some pretty useful functionality thats seemingly abandoned. Its a real shame Klaviyo doesnt support this or take over the Gforms addon. I can only imagine how many WordPress users they have… following…

BTW I reached out to Klaviyo support. Here was their reply:

We have reached out to WooCommerce to update the version of the plugin found in their plugin library!

I suggested they need to have their developers manage the plugin in the repo not ask Woo to do it.

I also asked that they take over the Gforms addon too. (A guy can dream right?)

Yeah, they shouldn’t be reaching out to WooCommerce since WooCommerce.com doesn’t appear to have Klaviyo in their extensions directory.

Really, this plugin at https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/klaviyo-for-woocommerce/ is what needs to be updated, and it’s showing Klaviyo as the author with @bialecki and @bawhalley as the contributors/developers (both of which have the two, now out-of-date per https://help.klaviyo.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005255808-Integrate-with-WooCommerce, Klaviyo plugins as their only plugins). I assume they should be able to just update the plugin on WP.org as needed if they’re already owners of it. Otherwise, they need to reach out to the two developers of these plugins to update things (not WooCommerce).

Yeah, both these WP.org Klaviyo & Klaviyo for WooCommerce as well as the Gravity Forms Klaviyo seem to be abandoned & unsupported while Klaviyo has new plugins that they want people to use that’s only buried in their documentation & nowhere else with them then not acknowledging Gravity Forms integration at this point.

Both of these (update the Klaviyo & Klaviyo for WooCommerce for their newly unified v2 plugin and acknowledge & possibly support the Gravity Forms integration) really should be taken care of by them.

I’ve also cross-posted this at https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/why-hasnt-this-wp-org-plugin-listing-been-updated-to-use-the-new-unified-plugin/ so this plugin isn’t excluded in the much needed updating & cleanup of things for Klaviyo’s assorted WordPress-based customers.
