Due to the Brexit chaos we needed to exclude UK customers from purchasing from our Woocommerce shop. So I added UK to the list of countries we do not sell to in the WC settings.

Now we’ve got two orders from the UK, but they didn’t choose UK as country during the checkout (that’s not possible), but simply left the field empty. The order went through, even though country is a required field.

On the invoices it says “Default country” now. That’s problematic as we currently aren’t able to sell to UK customers due to VAT problems.

How can I make sure that nobody can checkout without choosing a proper country?

  • Hello,

First, can you please check if the selling and shipping locations are set correctly (https://snipboard.io/lDuZUz.jpg). If they are all correct, then the issue is likely caused by a conflict with your theme or with another plugin. To determine what’s causing the issue, please temporarily switch your theme back to Storefront and disable all plugins except for WooCommerce. If that resolves the issue, then re-enable plugins one-by-one until you find the one that’s causing the conflict.
