Why is my home page being re-directed – Aliens?

Strange… did you try resetting permalinks? Or buy a giant laser…. helps with the aliens……

That’s strange…. did you happen to set that as a static front page before deleting? Maybe something is hosed up there

Kill the plugins and test? In case one of them was really attached to your new page?

Just the basic stuff first, ya know? I’ve had plugins wreck things in really strange ways

Was the redirection plugin the alien?

Yup, if you do a google search for wordpress redirecting to deleted page, you will see that plugin mentioned a fair bit

i’m using this plugin now… easy as
