Why is my scrollbar transperent

    Hi there,

    I am setting up a wordpress site and I noticed my scrollbar is transparent gray

    What I expect to see :



    The issue persists with any theme I try.
    I have 0 plugins. The plugins folder is empty.

    Any suggestions?

  • Hi @mohamedh

    Do you see this in one particular browser only, or does it happen in all of your browsers? Do you also see it in your main browser’s incognito window?

    If it’s only visible in your main browser’s “normal” browing, then I think the issue might be caused by a browser extension (they’re generally disabled in private sessions). Try turning off all browser extensions and see if that sorts your main browser.

    It wasn’t browser-related.

    I have no idea what caused it exactly, but it is gone now…

    I was experimenting with WP dark mode extension. My only guess is some of the CSS was not cleared properly and was forcing its way even in light mode even after I removed the extension the CSS was left. I may have forgotten to clear the cache before posting, I always do, but it seems I forgot this time… (that’s the only logical explanation)

    Yes, stuck cache can cause weird things which resolve in a mysterious way. Anyway, I’m glad it’s sorted!
