• I posted this question to “miscellaneous”, with no response. Perhaps this is a better category for my problem. Help please.

All of a sudden in the past few days, only the most current post shows up. When I go to the dashboard and manage posts, they’re all in there, showing as “published” – but only the most recent one shows up on the blog page, and only the most recent one shows up in the current month, also(if I open the “May” section).

What might have caused this, and what can I do to fix it? I have posted four messages this month, but only one shows up – altho, as above, all of them show up through my dashboard.

    Thanks

  • Are the other posts that aren’t showing up actually published and are not set to be posted at a future date?

Did you happen to change your theme? It may be set up that way in the theme.

Did you also check the dashboard to make sure that the number of posts to display is more than one?

Have you altered the query on the index page?

Other than those four things, I don’t know what the problem could be.

    good questions t3chee

I don’t see anything on the dashboard about number of posts to display. Where would I look? This blog is six months old, and this is a sudden problem — but perhaps something happened by accident.

    from the “manage posts” page, I see all of them, and they show as published; have not changed my theme;

I don’t even know what the query on the index page is — so truly have no clue there.

Can you point me in the right direction on the dashboard?

    Thanks

Look for “Blog pages show at most”

that.s not it – darn it! It was set to show “at most 10”. I tried changing the numbere and updating, to see if that would jog it loose – but still no luck.

Maybe I’ll try changing the theme – and see if it helps. Hopefully I will not lose six months of posts!

What changes did you make before this happened (plugins, etc)?

That’s just it – I made no changes (that I’m aware of)

I HAVE noticed that as I’ve tried various fixes and then try to view the blog again, I’ll get a message at the bottom of the screen , something like — loaded – but with errors.

Yet, when I open, say for example, April’s post – they all show up. The problem occurs with May. Very wierd.

Changing the theme had no effect. Same problem. Going in on the manager and changing status from published to draft and then back to published had no effect.

    Frustrating!

I don’t see the error message that you see. However, the footer does not load on your main page and on March posts (I didn’t look through all pages). Try changing to the default WP theme to troubleshoot. The theme that you’re using is for WP 1.5 and you’re using WP 2.0 I’d update.

    WILL TRY THANKS

If the Theme is set up that way how would I change it?

Check your post’s “Edit Timestamp” date. My timestamp would change on its own to a 1969 year then my post would not appear on the blog but still show up on my post lists making me think it was okay.
