Why is sitemap.xml blank page?

    Hi

    Any idea why when I remove Yoast and install this plugin that my sitemap.xml page is blank? The sitemap.html works fine (via XML Sitemap Generator for Google plugin) and from this I can then access the other sitemaps ie. /category-sitemap.html and even category-sitemap.xml but the main sitemap.xml is just blank.

    Is this normal? Any ideas on what to do to resolve it? It appears there are still tables for Yoast in my database but I am not confident enough to go erasing them…

    Hi Jim!

    Do you have a link for me to inspect? This is the first time I’ve heard of this problem in ages, and a lot has changed in TSF v5.0, so it could be a new issue worth investigating.

    If the sitemap is just “blank,” the sitemap probably works; just the “.xsl” styling endpoint might not work as intended due to a hosting configuration error, causing nothing to be styled at all. See if disabling the styling of the sitemap will improve things. You can toggle this at “SEO Settings > Sitemap Settings > Style.”

    Lastly, please note that when another sitemap plugin is active, TSF’s sitemap may not work as intended.

    In the future, you can use the designated “link” field when creating a topic; it’ll remain hidden from logged-out users and search engines.

    This was an issue with the theme adding extraneous HTML to the .xsl stylesheet.
