    Hi,

I’ve tried numerous times to make this work smoothly for me.

Basically I have inserted text (taken from my TextEdit editor in Mac) into WordPress and make a post. But what constantly happens is that the paragraphs will jump together. To be clear I do a shift>return after every paragraph. You can see what I did here:

See how I have resorted to putting full stops between paragraphs? At least that works. ?? After the post ‘looks correct’ I will save it and then find a bunch of paragraphs have run together. It’s frustrating as I know WordPress is good, but the text/content part of WordPress doesn’t seem to work too well.

Should I go into ‘code’ and add a break br tag? Or just press the space bar to allow for the correct spacing in a post? Or reformat the whole thing? Be great if anyone can shed some light on this one. Thanks…

  • I too, find it cumbersome to use.
I wish I had an answer for you.
Only sympathy. I will say that I have posted only a
few times in this forum and have received no help.
Hopefully you will have better luck.

Being new to WP I may be way off base here on what you’re referring to but I read somewhere (couldn’t tell you where) that in order to make paragraphs instead of break tags you need to hit the enter key twice after a paragraph and that will force WP to paragraph instead of br tag things. Is this what you’re talking about?

Hi and thanks both of you…

I just tried what you suggested Deb and it works!

Yes, I hit the return key (Mac) twice after each paragraph and the spacing looks way wrong – but it works just fine after you save it. So if anyone is experiencing this same trouble with WordPress then try this method – it works…

    Thanks a million ??
