Why is the same slug between the languages not allowed?

  • Why is the same slug between the languages not allowed?

    I have for example posts and pages for which wordpress doenst allow the slug to be the same, but which are on different languages. The url is in such a case not only different in the part after the domain name (which is good), but also in the rest of the url:

    domain.com/en/faq
    domain.com/de/faq2
    domain.com/it/faq3

    I have %postname% as permalink.
