• It always says wordpress did this and that but almost never shows the actual user name. You have to click on it to see it.

It will show “WordPress” as the name when the system did something not initiated by a regular user. Does the log also show events that you initiated yourself?

I imagine that. but I shows always WORDPRESS almost never the real name. Some of the users do all the time something, changing password etc. and I do admin work and stuff, but it shows most of the time WORDPRESS NOT the name. You have to click the entry to see the actual name! Have this on two websites. What could be the reason?

hm.. what do you mean by clicking the name to see the user name? could you possibly provide some screenshots of this?

btw, there is no chance that the user somehow have selected “wordpress” as their public name in their profile or something?

“You have to click the entry to see the actual name!”
You click on the date, then you see the details page. Right? When you see on almost EVERY entry wordpress in the log and only on the details page the actual user who did it. Would you think it’s and error?
There I find most of the time this:
    “initiator wp”
but the entry was done by an user and in the same entry you find eg.:
    “_user_login aceone”
so that’s the user name who actually did this. Why is it not indicated correctly?

Not one user in the database has the name wordpress! Has nothing to do with that. Only login’S and logout’s seem to be correctly indicated with the user name, and on the details page you find:
    “initiator wp_user”

This is since installation the case.

Do you have any other plugins installed on the site, that may interfere with the plugin somehow? I have never experiended this myself before and I have not heard about it before.

Thanks for the support. The module that caused this seems to be the WP Cron Control

    https://de.www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-cron-control/

I found this module very useful.

Thanks for the follow up, I can confirm this is happening for me too with that plugin installed.
