• And I actually mean everywhere.

Most of the links on my dashboard are drawing up error pages, but the odd thing is that its only about 75% of the time. As in, it takes me three or four tries to access a page like Posts, for example.
In fact this is the blurb that I received when I attempted to see which version of WordPress I am using.

    “No Results Found

The page you requested could not be found. Try refining your search, or use the navigation above to locate the post”

I’m not the most WordPress-savvy person out there, so heavy lingo is lost on me, but this is extremely frustrating.
Any help at all would be hugely appreciated!

  • I have seen WP lose its mind before similar to this – though typically the Dashboard area has been fine, it’s just “everything other than the homepage” on the frontend of the site. I have always been able to fix it by going to the Permalinks settings page in the admin area and just re-saving that page. Really wish I knew what caused the problem in the first place, or why this works but for some reason that does the trick. Hope that helps!

Thanks for the suggestion, but unfortunately that isn’t my solution. In fact, I had to give it four shots just to re-save the permalinks page, kept bringing me to the 404.

Now the majority of my clicking yields this:

    “Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator at [email protected] to inform them of the time this error occurred, and the actions you performed just before this error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request. “

    I am beyond frustrated.

Ouch. Have you looked into the possibility you were hacked? Have you looked at the error logs to find out WHAT the 500 error was that is being thrown?

May be time to call in the web host if you’re now getting errors in the browser. Perhaps they can help track down what’s going on.

I know it probably sounds stupid, but have you tried renaming the plugins folder and going to a stock theme to see if the site starts behaving then? Assuming you can get to the tools necessary to do that, at this point…

Due to the fact that this site is literally brand new (the problems starting popping up immediately), I don’t think hacking is the issue. I followed your suggestion of checking up on the error logs, and now something else strange. Normally the last 300 errors should be listed, but the box where they typically are is blank, and mouseover shows an error as well (red circle with a line through it).

I’ll have to contact my web host, maybe they can help me sift through this mess.

I would try to reinstall, make sure you create a fresh database and see if that solves the problem.
Did you install yourself or was it done with an auto installer through your hosting company?
