why is wordpress sooooo slooowwwww?

  • Hi guys,
    im preparing a site and since a couple of days its loading real slow
    even the wp-admin page takes ages to load. navigating the wordpress “environment” to edit my site is hell, like, it can take a minute to load a page.
    What could be the problem?

  • dont worry about that.
    Just try it out. You can always put your old theme back. It does depend of the complexity but I am sure you would be able to adjust what ever you need with almost any widget/layout.

    hey alugonja,
    thanx for asking!
    so i spent 2 days noting the time/loading time n sent that data to media temple.
    this morning i received a mail saying they found some increased latency on the smartpools my databases are located on, so they put me on a “grid container” environment for 30 days.
    since they moved me there, the site’s been loading fine. i’ll monitor how things evolve in the next couple of days. if my problem’s gone, means the culprit was the host.
    i’ll report it here…

    well sure they did make you a party time.

    But, what I mentioned earlier in conversation, we are always going to be facing some stupid “little” problems. The only way to live is more you grow more you know. Learning every day.

    So the bottom line is, you gotta love it.
