    Hello guys,

Why All-In-One Migration is so…. slow ? It has been three hours and i am waiting for the process to be completed. Import took more than 1 hours and now export has gone far more than 3 hours. Well, I liked your plugins’ approach. Following issues i faced everytime i try your plugin :

    • The process lags for more than usual timings
    • The archive size is larger than other backup plugins. Literally, I compared it with wp-clone & backupbuddy. wp-clone size is 45mb and backupbuddy is little larger 60mb around (take care backupbuddy storing core files.) and AIO Migration size 281mb. that’s huge difference.

I might be interested in some facts.

    Hi LogixTree,

I am sorry the plugin is slow for you.
For 281MB site, with good Internet connection and fair server, the plugin should take less than 3 minutes to export and even faster on import.
Do you have backups from other plugins within wp-content and wp-content/uploads?
Our plugin exports everything within your wp-content folder.

The .wpress archive format is faster than any other archiving format – zip, tar, rar, 7zip etc.
We ensure that all of the files in wp-content folder are copied and we do not skip a file, plugin, or theme unless advanced options are using.
Why does it take long? It entirely depends on the size of the site that is being archived and the server where the plugin is running.
We have a retry mechanism that will keep trying to export/import your website even when the server is not responsive.
I cannot say exactly why it takes a lot of time but you could try different options to determine what the bottleneck is:
    – Try advanced options to export different parts of the site – do they all take the same time? Maybe there is part of the site that has a lot of files and archiving these files takes a lot of time
    – Try upgrading your server to use SSD
    – Try upgrading your server’s cpu and memory
    – Try disabling some of the plugins and compare the running time

281MB on DigitalOcean’s cheapest hosting ($5/month) will take less than 3 minutes to export or import.
Unlikely, but possible, is that the hard drive is corrupted and some sectors are causing the delay.
    Hope this helps.

    Hello Pim,

Thanks for your reply. Okay, I will try as you have mentioned. I am also in doubt the something is wrong with hosting. Because, backupbuddy and wpclone failed in the process. But, though it took time. I finally migrated wpblog to this hosting. Really great. ?? But still the size is key point.

Thank again for you kind help. I’ll be back after more testing on this plugin.

    Regards,
    Team LogixTree
