Why no voting system for threads (not responses) on www.ads-software.com

  • That would be really helpful. For instance this thread is awesome on this issue. Should be the a way to provide that feedback in terms of something meta.

    Some threads are more awesome than others, yes, but why create a rating system for it?

    We want every thread to get an answer. With a rating system, threads would be biased into receiving views and answers over other threads.

    Surely if a thread is awesome, it is because it has already been participated in and therefore does not necessarily need further participation. With the rating system, these awesome threads would receive further interest, whereas the foreveralone threads would remain unpopular.

    Disclaimer: I am saying would a bit too dismissively, but I didn’t feel like saying may.

    Other reason: Spammers, trolls, sockpuppets, and moderator sanity.
