Why related products are always THE SAME??

I have a store with 300+ products subdivided in 20 categories and tons of unique tags, but in single product view the four related products are always the same, no matter which product I look at.
Is there a way to randomize somehow the algorithm Woocommerce uses to pick related products (which is clearly wrong)???
