Why? This is a standard cf7 feature

It is not completely the same.
With this plugin you can block email domains.
I did not read that in the documentation of CF7.
The spammer can use different ip addresses with the same email address in my opinion.
So you would have to store multiple ip numbers to block it

It is. The standard blacklist does the same thing.

CF7 won’t let you submit a message when the standard wp blacklist contains the full or a part of that email address.

So if I add @mydomain.com to the blacklist and then try to submit a CF7 message with [email protected] as the sender, you will get the “Submission was referred to as spam” message. Remove it from the blacklist, submit again and it works.

Ok that is not what I read in the documentation.
If the standard blacklist does that, then this plugin is a duplicate.
But it should be good if you could find this within the documentation.
I have been searching for a solution, but could not find it within any documentation.
I will test it to see if it indeed works like you describe on my test environment.

And I get a warning that something is wrong!
So you cannot send the contact form.
The explanation within WordPress indicates that the post is sent to the trash.
That would not be such a good idea, because than you need to check the trash regularly. But the behavior is different when using a domein name like this @mail.ru
You get the error message as indicated before.
That is fine by me, and a solution I can use.

Mmm the CF7 documentation doesn’t explicitly say ’email’ but for me it was implied with:

Contact Form 7 can also utilize it to blacklist specific words or IP addresses.

The warning you get that something is wrong can be changed on the ‘messages’ tab of the CF7 form. It’s the one that’s titled “Submission was referred to as spam”

Sent to trash: true, that’s what happens with blog posts comments. But CF7 uses the same blacklist and it’s documentation says

Put one word or IP address per line in the text box. Messages containing the word or sent from the IP address in the list you’ve created will be treated as spam by Contact Form 7 and will not be delivered.
