After upgrading from version 3.1.4 to 3.1.6 we found that the page load time when logged in is very slow and in the range 45 to 60 seconds. For non-logged in users the page load time is normal and in the range of 1 to 2 seconds.

Clearing the cache seems to resolve the issue, but after some hours the cache has grown and the page load time for logged in users is much too slow.

We have been unable to work in this way and have been forced to re-install version 3.1.4.

How can this issue be resolved?

  • Hi there,

    Sorry for the delay…

Which features of the plugin are enabled?

Clearing the cache seems to resolve the issue, but after some hours the cache has grown and the page load time for logged in users is much too slow.

Is it for logged-in users visiting the site, or users editing in the admin?

    Hi Marc

    Cache settings are as follows:

Generate separate files for mobile devices – YES
Serve cached pages to logged in users – NO
    Cache lifespan – 24 HRS
Activate scheduled cache preloading – YES
Select schedule type – SAME AS CACHE LIFESPAN
URLs to exclude from caching – /wp-login /feed/ /sitemap/ (each on new line)
Cookies which, if present, will prevent caching (one per line) – NONE
List of browser agent strings which, if detected, will prevent caching – NONE
Gzip compression is already enabled. It seems to be handled by Cloudflare.
Browser static file caching headers are currently enabled -EXPIRATION TIME: 28 DAYS

Page load time is exceptionally slow for both logged-in users visiting the site and users editing in the admin.

Hoping you will be able to resolve this issue, so that we can upgrade to version 3.1.6.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for the details.
Can you confirm that you are using the free version of the plugin?

    Hi Marc

Yes, it is the free version of the plugin.

    Does that make a difference?

    Thanks.

    Does that make a difference?

No it’s just to know where to look.

    Hi Marc

I noticed that WP Optimize had been upgraded to version 3.1.7, so I hoped this would resolve the slow admin loading.

However the upgrade also causes the same problem. i.e. very slow page loading of both the back and front ends of the website when logged in. Page load times of 2 minutes are really not acceptable.

After re-installing version 3.1.4 the problem is resolved, and logged-in page load times are back to 1 to 2 seconds.

Staying on version 3.1.4 is not an ideal solution for the long term. Hoping you will be able to resolve this issue.

    Please advise.
