Why would an attribute be grayed out on a product page?

  • When I try to simply use my size attribute that I set up as a global attribute, I see it in the drop down list for my variable product, but it’s grayed out. A few hours ago when I was working on the site it wasn’t grayed out and let me use the attribute, and I saved the product, but when I went back to it it had reverted to a simple product and is giving me this issue.
