Why would child author.php not override parent?

  • Hi,

    I have a child theme with an author.php file that seems to be failing to override its parent’s author.php file. I have other template PHP files in the child theme that are overriding their counterparts in the parent theme.

    Any ideas what could be going wrong here? What would make WP ignore a child template file?

    Both the parent & child are custom themes I’ve written with my team. We have 15+ other child themes inheriting from the same parent, and we’ve never seen a template file ignored like this before.
